Week Ten: The Fiction of Ideas; The Female Man (5 Points)

Jeezz… I’m one to always theorize of the possibilities in alternate universes out there but when it comes to something like this—the thought that somewhere in a different alternate reality there could be a better me (:0… or Maybe worse—WE DON'T KNOW!  Topics like this always puts my head in a twist. You’d think that after reading The Female Male would make my theorizing self more calm… BUT IT DIDN’T! Just made me question more really.

Aside from that, were introduced to these four characters who are all linked together—but of course all in a different dimension.  I was very surprised how each character's dimension time differed from one another. When they encounter each other, they’re all startled with one another’s lives.. (I mean who wouldn't—If I learned that another me had a better life..I’d think i would be jealous or something..) But I like how this novel didn’t take that story too much into that route. Instead their roles in sexism were introduced and that’s what supposed to me the most. Throughout the novel each character learned a thing or two from one another and to value themselves as a whole and where they stand in life and society.

Just as them, I believe my perspective on life has shifted a little.. i'm only 19, there’s still much more to learn and live for but after reading this I believe my decision making has become a little lighter.  I appreciate how different this novel took the idea of alternate realities, very original in my opinion. I hope to find more reads like this :D.
